Gov Adeleke Sacks Osun Chief Judge, Appoints Replacement

 

 

Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State has approved the immediate sack of the state’s Chief Judge, Justice Adepele Ojo.

The governor also approved the appointment of Justice Olayinka David Afolabi as the Acting Chief Judge of the state.

According to a statement issued on Thursday in Osogbo by the Chief Press Secretary (CPS) to the governor, Olawale Rasheed, the sack of Justice Adepele Ojo was part of the resolution of the state House of Assembly on Thursday.

“Governor Ademola Adeleke has appointed Justice Olayinka David Afolabi as the Acting Chief Judge of Osun State with immediate effect following the approval of the resolution of the House of Assembly,” the statement read in part.

The former CJ who was appointed by Governor Gboyega Adetola during his tenure as the state governor  has been on a “hot seat” since Adeleke of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) ousted Oyetola of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Oyetola is now the Minister of Blue Economy.
