In a significant move aimed at enhancing the efficiency and service delivery of government institutions, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the appointment of 22 individuals into various key federal agencies and commissions.
The appointments, as conveyed in an official document on X page of Bayo Onanuga special Adviser to the president on Information and strategy cut across sectors such as agriculture, finance, education, women development, population, and entrepreneurship.
Among the notable appointments is Yazid Shehu Umar Danfulani from Zamfara State, who has been named the Managing Director of the Nigerian Agricultural Insurance Corporation (NAIC). Also at NAIC, Babaranti Ayandayo Rasheed from Osun will serve as Executive Director (Finance and Admin), while Abubakar Umar Jarengol from Adamawa takes up the role of Executive Director (Operation/Technical).
In a move to bolster gender development, Hon. (Dr.) Asabe Vilita Bashir from Borno has been appointed Director-General of the National Centre for Women Development.
The President also approved the appointment of Momoh Jibril from Kogi as a Board Member of the Federal Mortgage Bank and Comrade Isa Aremu from Kwara as Director-General of the Michael Imoudu National Institute for Labour Studies.
The National Population Commission has gained two new Federal Commissioners: Sen Jalo Zarami from Yobe and Hon. Dr. Joseph Haruna Kigbu from Nasarawa.
In the entrepreneurship sector, Hamza Ibrahim Baba from Kano will serve as National Program Manager of the Government Enterprise and Entrepreneurship Program (GEEP).
