Ondo Assembly Confirms Ex NASS DCNA, Olayide Adelami as Deputy Governor

The Ondo State House of Assembly on Thursday confirmed Mr. Olayide Owolabi Adelami mni, as the new Deputy Governor of the state.

 

 

The House at plenary presided over by the Speaker, Hon.  Olamide Oladiji had earlier screened the new Deputy Governor after the Clerk to the House, Mr. Benjamin Jaiyeola read the nomination letter written to the House by Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa dated February 24, 2024.

 

Quick Facts about the Deputy Governor

Mr. Adelami hails from Owo Local Government Area, the same LGA where the immediate past governor, Chief Rotimi Akeredolu also hailed from.

He attended Imade College in Owo, the Polytechnic Ibadan for his HSC and for his higher education he attended the University of Lagos and the Ogun State University, Ago Iwoye where he earned a Bachelors of Science in Business Administration and an MBA respectively.

He is an alumnus of the prestigious  leadership training institution, the  National Institute of Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS), Kuru, Jos.

The Deputy Governor joined the Federal Civil Service in 1983 as a pupil accountant at the Office of the Accountant General of the Federation, as a civil servant he traversed several sensitive office including, Petroleum Special Trust Fund (PTF), the Family Support Trust Fund and the National Assembly where he eventually rose to and retired as the Deputy Clerk to the National Assembly in 2018

In 2020 he contested for the governorship seat on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
