Appeal Court Upholds Election of Ngozi Okolie of LP, Sacks Ndudi Elumelu

The Court of Appeal sitting in Abuja has affirmed the election Hon. Ngozi Okolie of , the member representing Aniocha/Oshimili Federal Constituency of Delta State in the House of Representatives on the platform of the labour Party (LP).
The Delta State National and State Assembly Election petition Tribunal sitting in Asaba had a fortnight ago invalidated the declaration of Hon. Okolie by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on the ground that he was not properly nominated by the labour Party (LP).
However, ruling the appeal brought before it by the Labour Party candidate, the Court of Appeal set aside the ruling of the tribunal and affirmed that Okolie was properly nominated by the Labour Party and was duly elected.
