Nami Proceeds on Terminal Leave as Tinubu Appoints Adedeji Chairman of FIRS

President Bola Tinubu has appointed Mr. Zaccheus Adedeji as the new Acting Executive Chairman of the Federal Inland Revenue Service(FIRS).

 

The former Executive Chairman of the service, Muhammad Nami has also been directed to proceed on terminal leave in line with Public Service Rule (PSR) 120243.

 

Adedeji was the Special Adviser to President Tinubu on Revenue Generation before his new appointment.

A native of Ogbomosho, Oyo State, Adedeji served as the commissioner for Finance in Oyo State between 2011 and 2015 during the government of former governor of Oyo State, Abiola Ajimobi.

President Muhammadu Buhari later appointed him the Executive Secretary of the National Sugar Development Council. Prior to joining public service, he had worked with Procter and Gamble in Ibadan as a manager.

Adedeji was born on January 8, 1978. He has a first class and Master degrees in  Accounting from Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile Ife. He is also an alumnus of the Harvard Kennedy School of Government, USA.
