‘Ife’ Star, Cindy Amadi is Dead

Cindy Amadi, the co-star in one of Nigeria’s controversial LGBTQ movies “Ife” has died.
The death of the fast-rising actress was announced on Thursday by the producer of the movie in instagram via @ife_movie account.
Late Cindy co-starred alongside MTV Shuga’s Uzomaka Aniunoh, which was directed by actress Nse Ikpe-Etim and Nyaiedu Ikpe-Etim. The movie boldly explores lesbianism in a culturally charged Nigeria
The statement confirming the death of the thespian reads: “We are greatly, deeply, and unbelievably saddened to learn about the passing of Cindy Amadi, who played Adaora in #féthemovie.”
“She was very enthusiastic about developing her craft and growing her career and continuing to showcase her talent. She was well on her way until her untimely passing,” the statement read.
“This wasn’t the idea, Cindy,” the producer lamented, saying: “You were thrilled when I assured you we would create the sequel.
“I’m sorry we couldn’t complete it in time. But we will complete it…for you. Rest in Peace for now.”
