Gunmen Abduct Passengers on Enugu -Otukpo Road

Yet to be identified gunmen on Sunday blocked the Otukpo-Enugu highway in Benue State and abducted yet to determined passengers in six vehicles.

The incident according to eyewitnesses happened at Olanyega/Ogbodo in Okpokwu Local Government Area of the state.

The eyewitness account revealed that a Benue Links bus filled to capacity was among the vehicles whose passengers were violently abducted.

The Benue State Police spokesperson, SP Catherine Anekwe who confirmed the unfortunate incident, however, said that combined security teams were already on the trail of the kidnappers.

Speaking on the incident,  a commercial bus driver, who craved  anonymity  while speaking with FACTSHEET, “our people are now avoiding that road.”

According to him, “that place is dangerous, before it was only armed robbers, now they have strated kidnapping. It is very scary sir.”
