I have always argued that most Nigerians do not really know that in order to accurately assess a govt performance, one must take into account how much fund is available to that govt and compare same with the amount of work such a govt has executed. This is the only way to truly determine if the govt is performing or not.
Peter Mbah’s govt thrives on media hype and propaganda with very little substance. Do some roads in the city centre, paint and beautify most of the junctions and roundabouts and announce high-sounding projects like floating an Airline, building smart school in every wards etc. It doesn’t matter if the state does not have something as basic as water. It doesn’t matter if the existing public schools are in sorry state neither does it matter if the average man on the street has become poorer than he ever was as a result of inhuman tax regime.
What is happening in Enugwu state is ASSET STRIPPING. And the people are non the wiser.
For proper context;
Between May 29th, 2023 when governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah of Enugwu state came to power till now, September 2025 (2 years and 4 months), his govt has received a total of N923 billion in federal allocations from the Federation Account Allocation Committee (FAAC) This is according to FAAC reports.
Within the same period under review, the governor has borrowed N96.7 billion in domestic debt increasing the state domestic debt profile from N140.7 billion to N237.4 billion. This is according to the debt management office (DMO)
From May 29, 2023 (his inauguration), to today, September 15, 2025, the state has generated approximately N384.5 billion in IGR.

If you do the maths, the total will come up to over 1.4 trillion naira.
According to the state govt figure, over 384 billion has been spent on EDUCATION. What the govt won’t tell you is that over 80% of this outrageous sum ended up in the pockets of friends and fronts of the administration fraudulently awarded billions in the Smart School contract Largesse without due process. Remember how the Sujimoto guy was awarded over 11 billion with 50% of the sum speedily released to him in violation of the Public Procurement Act which allows for the release of only 30% of the contract sum.
Over N53 billion spent from state budgets alone for water revamping through 2025 and this DOES NOT include the $100 million foreign investment. If you add potential overruns, prior-year carryovers, or the full cost of the 2023 scheme, it will push the total higher. Yet, the state water problem still persists.
Spent approximately N114 billion on agriculture with most of the money ending in the pockets of SPVs with very little or no info on the people behind them.
Over 85 billion on health, yet, the state does not have a single standard public health facility.
Over 30 billion on security.
Some day, we will talk of the vast quantity of people’s land this govt has cornered in the name of one bogus project or the other which they will later share among themselves. Recall how the governor already acquired 30,000 hectares which accounts for over 4% of the total land mass of the state in the name of ending food insecurity in partnership with that same Sujimoto guy.
Zero accountability. Zero transparency. Zero concern for the actual needs of the common man. Just some elitist jargons aimed at siphoning public fund in an industrial scale. And there is little or no opposition voices. The likes of Frank Nweke Junior has gone comatose.
