The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Saturday June 202, 2026 conducted by-elections in five states, Enugu in the Southeast, Ondo, Southwest, Nasarawa, North Central, Kebbi and Kano in the Northwest and Rivers in the South South.
According to the results declared, the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) won in all, but in Rivers State, South South where the Peoples democratic Party (PDP), won the Rivers South-East Senatorial District by-election, as Mr. Olaka Nwogu polled a total of 47,,961 votes to defeat Mr. Osar Erewari of APC, who polled 1,647 votes to come a distant second.
In Enugu State, Mr. Ikeje Asogwa, of the APC won the Enugu North Senatorial District by-election by polling 162,360 votes to defeat his closest rival, Chief Nestor Ezeme of PDP, who polled 9,299 votes. Asogwa will noe replace late Senator Okey Ezea (Ideke) who recently died.

In Kebbi State, North West, where a State Constituency by-election was held, Mr. Rabiu Garba Ariki of the APC was declared winner after he polled 4, 887 votes to defeat Aliyu Galadima Muhammad of the Labour Party (LP), who polled 168 votes.
Also in Kano State, Northwest, Mr. Rabiu Shuaibu of the APC was declared winner haven polled 35,356 votes to defeat Lawal Garba-Haruna of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM), who scored 268 votes, and Abubakar Yahaya-Muhammad of the Labour Party (LP), who scored 98 vote.
On Nasarawa State, North Central, Danladi Envulu-anza, of the APC who polled 45,362 votes won the Nasarawa North Senatorial District election. Former Minister of Information, Mr. Labaran Maku of the Labour Party (LP) polled 12,931 votes, while Emmanuel David Ombugadu of the PDP got 11,570 votes to emerge second and third respectively.
In Ondo State, South West, Dayo Faduyile of the APC polled 68, 474 to defeat Mr. Adeolu Akinwunmi of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) who scored paltry 1, 411.
