‘I am a Man,’ Bobrisky Declares in Court, To Serve Term in Ikoyi Prisons

Convicted popular crossdresser, Idris Olarenwaju Okuneye, AKA, Bobrisky on Friday told Justice Abimbola Awogboro of the Federal High Court, Lagos that “ I am a man” shortly before he was sentenced to six months in prison for mutilating the Naira.

Bobrisky was arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on account of economic crime.

On trial, the Lagos socialite pleaded guilty and was subsequently convicted ON April 5, 2024 and will now serve his six-month jail term at the Ikoyi Correctional Centre.

The EFCC arraigned  him on four of  counts charge including the incidents where he was accused of tampering with N400,000 at Imax Circle Mall in Jakande, Lekki; N50,000 at Aja Junction in Ikorodu; N20,000 at White Steve Event Hall in Ikeja; and another N20,000 at an event hall in Oniru, Victoria Island, all between 2022 and 2024.
