Senate Confirms Gbenga Alade as AMCON MD, 3 Other Directors

The Senate has confirmed  on Tuesday confirmed Mr. Gbenga Alade as Managing Director  of the Asset Management Company of Nigeria (AMCON).

The confirmation of Alade follows his earlier nomination by President Bola Tinubu alongside three others to serve on the management of the agency.

The nominees confirmed are, Gbenga Alade as Managing Director, and Adeshola Lamidi, Lucky Adaghe and Dr Aminu Mukhtar Dan’amu as Executive Directors

Before their confirmation,  the Chairman of Senate Committee on Banking, Insurance and Other Financial Institutions, Senator Mukhail Abiru Adetokunbo presented a report of the screening conducted on the nominees by the committee.

The Committee Chairman stated that the nominees were thoroughly screened and were found competent to serve in the capacities they were nominated for by the president. He further noted that the nominees also complied with extant laws including that of the Code of Conduct Bureau.

After Sen. Abiru’s presentation, the Deputy President of the Senate, Sen. Jibrin Barau who presided at the plenary subsequently dissolved into the Committee of the Whole where the nominees were individually confirmed through voice vote.
