The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Mr. Nyesom Wike, has arrived in Dubai to attend the 2025 Asia Pacific Cities Summit and Mayors’ Forum (2025APCS).
The event which attracts business executives, major investors and city leaders across the world serves as a one-stop-shop for leaders and developers to showcase opportunities in their various cities.
According to a statement issued in Abuja on Monday by the Senior Special Assistant Public Communications and Social Media to the minister, Lere Olayinka, Wike departed Abuja on Sunday, landed in Dubai early Monday morning at around 4 a.m. He was warmly received by the Nigerian Consul General in Dubai, Ambassador Zayyanu Ibrahim, alongside officials from the Federal Capital Territory Administration, including the Acting Executive Secretary of the Federal Capital Development Authority, Richard Dauda, and other senior aides.
Wike will actively participate in the summit by leading a discussion panel on Tuesday. He is set to engage with mayors from capital cities around the world, sharing insights on the development of the FCT.
The 2025APCS, organised by the Brisbane City Council of Australia, is designed to foster trade and investment opportunities across Asia Pacific, the Middle East, Africa, and South Asia.
The event brings together a diverse group of mayors, city leaders, business executives, and emerging professionals to explore sustainable urban development and international collaboration
Other senior FCT officials who accompanied Wike on the trip include, the Acting Executive Secretary of the Federal Capital Development Authority, Engr Richard Yunana Dauda, Senior Special Assistant to the Minister on Legal and Multilateral Cooperation, Benedict Daudu, Director, Department of Development and Control, Mukhtar Galadima, Director Engineering Services, Engr Chuks Udeh and Director of Protocol, Sani Musa Daura.
