Troops of Operation Forest Yaki (OPFY) Main Strike Team have successfully eliminated several terrorists and dismantled a major terror camp during a clearance operation in Katsina State, the Nigerian military confirmed.
According to military intelligence sources cited by security analyst Zagazola Makama, the operation commenced around 5:30 a.m. on Thursday, May 9. The troops advanced from Bini in the HAR axis, moving through Landal village and Akuzo, before reaching the Yan Wutsiya area where they encountered heavy resistance at a known terrorist hideout referred to as “Soja Camp.”
A fierce gunfight ensued, resulting in the death of several terrorists, while others fled with gunshot wounds, as evidenced by blood trails found at the scene.
Following the confrontation, troops conducted a detailed sweep of the camp, recovering a cache of arms and ammunition. Items seized include:
Two AK-47 rifles
Ten AK-47 magazines loaded with 300 rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition
One 120mm mortar bomb, believed to be intended for improvised explosive devices (IEDs)

One locally fabricated PKT rifle
One locally made pistol
120/88 ammunition links
Military uniforms
One Baofeng radio set with chargers
Additionally, a motorcycle belonging to the fleeing terrorists was destroyed, along with various logistical and life-support structures within the camp.
Military authorities reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining offensive operations in the region until all terrorist hideouts are fully dismantled.
