The lawmaker representing Kogi Central in the National Assembly, Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan,has threatened legal action against the Clerk to the National Assembly (CNA), Mr. Kamorudeen Ogunlana, should the CNA interferes in her resolve to resume her office on Monday September 15, 2025.
According to a letter addressed to the CNA and signed by Mr. Michael Numa (SAN), the lawyer to the embattled lawmaker, the lawmaker insisted that the reported position of the CNA, over her planned resumption of office was an “ untenable stance.”
Part of the letter reads:
“Take notice that failure to comply by Monday, 15th September 2025, will leave us with no alternative but to initiate proceedings against you personally and in your official capacity,” the letter stated.

“We strongly advise that you reconsider your untenable stance and comply with the Constitution and extant judicial orders.”
The lawmaker’s letter is a response to an earlier letter written by the Acting Clerk to the National Assembly, Mr. Yahaya Danzaria informing the Kogi Central lawmaker that she could not resume until the matter in court.
Part of the CNA’s reads, “ “I am directed to acknowledge the receipt of your letter notifying this office of your intention to resume sitting and other legislative duties in the Senate on the 4th of September, 2025, which you claim is the date of expiration of the 6 months suspension imposed on you by the Senate.
“I am further directed to inform you that your suspension was with effect from Thursday 6th March, 2025 and draw your attention to the fact that the subject matter of your suspension is presently before the Court of Appeal. The matter therefore remains subjudice, and until the judicial process is concluded and the Senate formally reviews the suspension in the light of the Court’s pronouncement, no administrative action can be taken by this office to facilitate your resumption. You will be duly notified of the Senate’s decision on the matter as soon as it is resolved.”
