The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has uploaded over 80% of the Osun State governorship election on its iReV portal as Governor Ademola Adeleke raises alarm of alleged plot by some politicians to disrupt the collation of the election result. Results from 3,065 out of the total 3,763 polling units in the state have been uploaded as at 7pm on Sarurday.

The uploaded results seen by FACTSHEET indicates that Governor Adeleke of Accord Party is leading while the All Progress Congress (APC) candidate trails behind in the election that has been bedevilled by heavy security presence.
Calling of President Bola Tinubu to order security operative to ensure that the collation of the results were not disrupted, Governor Adeleke in a statement shared on his social media handles stated that, “Reports of attempts to hijack or disrupt collation centres by desperate and rejected politicians across the state are deeply concerning and unacceptable.”
The governor appealed to the president to firmly direct heads of security agencies to protect the process.
“I therefore implore you to reiterate the commitment made to the people of Osun State that their votes will count and that the outcome of this election will reflect their genuine choice,” part of the statement read.
