The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has issued a strong warning to the public regarding the activities of fraudulent websites claiming to offer electronic visa (e-Visa) services on behalf of the Service.
In a public notice signed on Tuesday by ACI AS Akinlabi, the Service’s Public Relations Officer, the NIS drew attention to a specific fake website, www.nigeria-e-visa.com, which it said falsely presents itself as an official e-Visa application platform.
“The attention of the Comptroller General of the Nigeria Immigration Service, KN Nandap, has been drawn to a fake website purporting to offer electronic visa application services on behalf of the Service,” the statement read. “The Service reiterates that the e-Visa system is only available on the NIS portal: https://evisa.immigration.gov.ng.”
The NIS advised members of the public to refrain from using any third-party websites or agents for e-Visa processing, warning that such platforms are not affiliated with the Service and pose serious risks including fraud, identity theft, and financial loss.
Reaffirming its commitment to maintaining high standards of integrity, the Service urged individuals seeking accurate information to rely solely on its official communication channels and platforms.
“For more enquiries regarding the e-Visa application process,” the notice advised, “kindly visit the Nigeria Immigration Service’s official website and social media channels.”
