Kwara Gov Sacks Principal Secretary, All SSAs, SAs Others

Kwara State governior, Mr. AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has sacked a substantial part of his cabinet, which saw most of his Special Assistants relived of their duties

 

In a statement issued on Monday by the Deputy Chief Press Secretary to the governor, Mosshood Agboola, the reshuffle affects all Special Advisers, Advisers, Senior Special Assistants, Special Assistants, as well as the Deputy Chief of Staff and the Principal Private Secretary to the governor.

According to the statement, the exercise is aimed at strengthening governance and creating room for broader participation within the administration, and part of the  government’s moves to reposition itself.

“Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has approved a minor cabinet shake-up involving all Special Advisers, Advisers, Senior Special Assistants, and Special Assistants,” the statement read in part.

A senior member of the government told FACTSHEET on the condition of anonymity that Governor Abdulrazak’s decision was normal and a “mere move to inject fresh ideas into governance and expand opportunities for more members of the ruling party to contribute to the state’s development.”

Governor AbdulRazaq, according to the statement, thanked all affected officials for their service and contributions to the growth of the state during their time in office.

He also wished them success in their future pursuits.

The statement further directed all affected appointees to immediately hand over government property in their possession to the Office of the Secretary to the State Government in line with administrative procedures.
