Nigeria’s immediate past president, Muhammadu Buhari is dead.
The death of the former president was announced in a terse statement issued by his spokesman, Garba Shehu. According to the statement, the former president died in a London clinic on Sunday afternoon. The Nigeria’s former military and civilian leader was born in 1942, he was 82 years old.
The statement reads in part:
“The family of the former president has announced the passing on of the former president, Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR this afternoon in London.
May Allah accept him in Aljannatul Firdaus.”
