I’ve Concluded Plans to Leave Labour Party, Join APC- Sen Neda Imasuen

The Chairman Senate Committee on Ethics, Privileges and Public Petitions, Senator Neda Bernards Imasuen, has disclosed that he has concluded plans to defect from the Labour Party (LP) to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

Senator Imasuen represents Edo South Senatorial District in the 10th Senate. He hugged the media during the breakout of the spat between Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan when he said that the petition of Senator Akpoti Udduaghan against the President of the Senate was “dead on arrival.”

Speaking in Benin City on Sunday in an event marking his second year in office as a Senator, said that he would be joining the APC due to the leadership crisi rocking the Labour Party.

Describing his impending move to the APC as a strategic move that will “properly align Edo South with the centre,” the lawmaker highlighted some of his achievements in the last two years to include resolution of conflicts, and raising more awareness on the need to improve the production of cash crops that Edo State has comparative advantages on.

“As Chairman of the Senate Committee on Ethics and Public Petitions, we have resolved over 20 public petitions from across the country.

“These interventions have made a significant difference in the lives of ordinary Nigerians.

“We’ve focused on rubber, cocoa, and cashew farming. There are testimonies from farmers whose yields have improved significantly,” he highlighted.

He also listed other achievements to include the pursuit of establishment of a federal institution in Edo South and improvement on vocational education as well as welfare of his constituents.

The lawmaker promised to intensify efforts at improving the healthcare needs of the people, while also not neglecting economic empowerment for youth and women of the constituency.
