DEVELOPING STORY: Gunmen Abduct Tinubu’s Ex Minister’s Sister, Twin Sons in Ibadan

Gunmen have reportedly abducted the wife and twin children of the younger brother of immediate past Minister of Power, Mr. Bayo Adelabu.

 

The abduction of the trio reportedly took place on Wednesday morning at the Challenge area of Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.

Mr. Adelabu was an All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship aspirant for Oyo State.

The latest abduction comes on the heels of the protests that trailed the abduction of school pupils and their teachers in Oriire Local Government Area of the state.

 

The family of Mr. Adelabu has also confirmed the abduction the woman identified Mrs. Olaide Busayo Adegoke John-Paul, and her twin sons.

 

According to a statement issued on Wednesday by Adelabu’s media aide, Comrade Femi Awogboro, the incident occurred in the early hours of June 3, 2026.

Mrs. John-Paul, 43, was  said to have been kidnapped around 7:30 a.m. while on her way to drop her children at school

Her 12-year-old twin sons, identified as Peter and Paul, were also forcefully taken by the assailants.

The victims were said to have been abducted by armed men who intercepted them during the school-run, heightening concerns over security in the area

 

Mrs. John-Paul is described as a former staff member of both the Central Bank of Nigeria and First Bank Pension Custodian, where she served before voluntarily retiring last year.

 

After retiring from the apex bank, she relocated to Ibadan in preparation to join her husband in the United States.

 

According to the family, security and law enforcement agencies have already been notified of the incident.
