The cause of the fire outbreak that razed a part of popular Wuse Market in Abuja has still not been confirmed several hours after the inferno which has been successfully but out by the men of the Federal Fire Service.
Fire broke out around the entrance of the market which quickly spread to some vehicles parked in the market.
When FACTSHEET reporter arrived at the scene heavy security presence was noticed as they could be seen preventing people from accessing the market.
Many traders were seen trying to salvage their goods, especially those whose shops were around the burnt area.
A security operative on guard at the market and a trader who identified himself as Usman Shehu told FACTSHEET that the market leadership were working together with security and emergency response officials to prevent looting of goods by hoodlums who earlier tried to swoop on shops in the guise of helping traders to secure their goods.
