The Nigeria Police authorities have announced that arrest of the team of its personnel that allegedly assaulted a woman in Port Harcourt, Rivers State last weekend.
A viral video currently circulating on the internet shows a woman with a bleeding mouth allegedly caused by a police patrol team.
In a statement issued on Sunday, the Rivers State police command revealed that the policemen involved in the incident have been identified and arrested.
The police is, however, seeking further information from the public and specifically the woman involved for possible prosecution of the errant police personnel.
“We want to inform our esteemed friends that the police officers allegedly involved in the incident from the video have been identified and are now in custody as part of our ongoing investigation. We are committed to ensuring a fair and thorough examination of this matter.
“However, to ensure transparency and gather all perspectives, we urgently request the lady seen in the video to please come forward and share her side of the story. Your input is crucial in helping us understand the situation fully. Your safety and well-being are our top priorities.
