Nigerian music maestro and “Zigima” music legend, Bright Chimezie has signed a lifetime contract with Sony Music Publishing West Africa.
The event which took place in the Lagos office of Sony Music saw the induction of Bright Chimezie to the extensive catalogues of Sony Music.
The induction now allows Sony Music Publishing to manage the extensive catalogue of Bright Chimezie.
Announcing the milestone, the Zigima maestro in a statement posted on his social media handle to celebrate the big news, he wrote, “Proud to announce that I was just inducted into Sony Music Publishing, West Africa family.”

Also speaking on the agreement signing, Godwin Tom, the Managing Director of Sony Music Publishing West Africa told journalists that, “We are honoured to welcome his remarkable catalogue into our family and look forward to creating new avenues that celebrate his enduring impact on African music.”
“Bright Chimezie’s music has endured through generations and continues to resonate across diverse cultures.”
Speaking on the significance of the induction, Chimezie stated that, “This marks an important step towards preserving our traditional and cultural heritage for generations to come. I have always believed in the power of music to inspire and unite, and I am thrilled to work with a global platform like Sony Music Publishing to take Zigima to the world.”
Sony Music Publishing owned by Japanese giants, Sony Electronics has some of the largest music catalogues in the world with over five million works cutting across all continents.
