Tinubu’s Govt Starving Us, ‘Making Us Look Like Witches’-Protesting Pensioners

Pensioners in Lagos have decried the nonpayment of their pension by the Federal Government accusing the government of making them look like witches and wizards.

The pensioners who protested their parlous situation at the Tafawa Balewa Square (TBS) Lagos on Monday lamented that the Federal Ministry of Finance and the Pension Transitional Arrangement Directorate (PITAD) were responsible for their problems as they were all dying of hunger and unable to pay for their medications.

The pensioners led by Mr. Mukaila Ogunbote of the Coalition of the Federal Pensioners, Lagos Chapter, said that the nonpayment of their  pension was leading the retirees “to the brink of survival.” He blamed the minister of finance, Wale Edun for the nonpayment of pension to federal government retirees.

One of the frail looking pensioners who spoke to Channels TV said that “the present government is making us look like witches, we are not witches.”

The pensioners are drawn from the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN), the Nigeria Railway Corporation (NRC), News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) among other federal agencies.
