President Bola Tinubu has appointed Ms Usoro Offiong Akpabio, as the Managing Director of the recently approved South South Development Commission (SSDC).
Ms. Akpabio, a young politician is from Akwa Ibom State.
The president also also nominated is former Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon, Chibudom Nwuche from Rivers State, as the Chairman of the Commission.
The letter nominating the duo and 16 other members of the board of the commission has been sent to the President of the Senate, Senator Godswill Akpabio for approval by the Senate.
The letter was read at the Thursday plenary of the Senate.
