Police Warns ‘Trouble Makers’ Ahead of PEPT Judgement

The Nigeria Police has said that it is ready to contain any possible crisis that may arise from the judgement of the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal (PEPT) scheduled to be delivered on Wednesday at the Court of Appeal Headquarters in Abuja.

The police is a statement issued by its spokesman, Kayode Adejobi revealed that it has “emplaced all necessary deployments” across Nigeria to ensure that trouble makers were contained where necessary.

Part of the statement reads: “In its bid to fortify security architecture and forestall any breakdown of law and order across the country as a result of the forthcoming Presidential Election Petition Tribunal Judgment scheduled to be passed on Wednesday, September 6, 2023, the Nigeria Police Force has strengthened its deployment across the length and breadth of Nigeria. The Police wish to reiterate the commitment to ensuring the safety of lives and property before, during, and after the judgement.”

Reiterating its commitment to security of all Nigerians, the statement noted that “The Nigeria Police Force is dedicated to its duty of protecting and serving the Nigerian people and is committed to carrying out these roles with professionalism, impartiality, and utmost dedication. Together, we can ensure a peaceful and secure environment for all during this period.”
