Police Opens Condolence Register for Late IGP Arase, Orders Flag be Flown on Half-Mast

The Nigerian Police authorities have opened a condolence register for former Inspector of Police, IGP Solomon Arase.

 

Arase who served as the 18th indigenous Inspector General of police died on Sunday in an Abuja hospital at the age of 69.

The former IGP also served as the Chairman of the Police Service Commission (PSC)

According to a statement shared on the official social media handle of the police, the police flag across all commands in Nigeria will also be flown on half-mast in respect of the departed IGP.

The statement reads in part, “The Nigeria Police Force has opened a Condolence Register at the Force Headquarters, Abuja, for the revered former Police Chief, as senior officers and staff pay their respects.

 

“In honour of his memory, the Police flag will fly at half-mast in all Commands and Formations nationwide.”
