The new management of the Nigeria National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) has relieved its spokesman, Olufemi Soneye of his position.
Although, Mr. Soneye who assumed the position barely 20months ago in a statement announced that he was “stepping aside” sources from the National oil company indicates that that sack of Soneye was part of larger strategy by the new management to rejig the NNPCL.
However, in a farewell statement he issued on Saturday, Soneye expressed gratitude to the NNPCL and his colleagues for the opportunity to serve in the capacity of the Chief Corporate Communications of the NNPCL.
The statement reads in part:
“Dear Esteemed Colleagues, I extend my heartfelt gratitude to you all for the unwavering support, professionalism, and genuine commitment you’ve shown in helping to shape and amplify the NNPC Ltd story over the past 20 months.
