The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has directed all state chapters and affiliate members to show support for NLC President Joe Ajaero, who is set to attend a police invitation on Thursday, August 29, 2024, in connection with allegations of terrorism.
NLC General Secretary Emmanuel Ugboaja confirmed that members across the country are to join peaceful processions to their local police commands and stay there until Ajaero’s interrogation is completed.
In Abuja, NLC members are also expected to show support, with some union leaders joining Ajaero at the police investigation office.
Last week, the police invited Ajaero for questioning over allegations of terrorism financing, treasonable felony, and cybercrime. The NLC’s legal adviser has requested a rescheduled date for Ajaero to respond to the invitation.
