The Inspector-General of Police, (IGP) Kayode Egbetokun has inaugurated 31 new gunboats recently acquired by the force as part of efforts to combat crime in Nigeria’s waterways and coastal communities.
The Marine Police division took over the boats and promised to henceforth effectively Police the waterways.
The new boats were launched in Lagos on Thursday.
