Naira Mutilation: Cubana Chief Priest Pleads Not Guilty, Granted N10million Bail
Popular Lagos socialite, Kubana Chief Priest has been granted bail in the sum of N10million by a Federal High Court sitting in Lagos on his ongoing trial for economic crimes.
He is standing trial for allegedly mutilating the Naira. The Popular club promoter was arrested by operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for economic crimes including mutilation of the Naira.
Cubana Chief Priest whose real name is Pascal Okechukwu was arraigned before Justice Kehinde Ogundare on three counts bordering on abuse of naira by allegedly spraying and tampering with the nation’s currency at a social event, contrary to the provisions of the Central Bank Act of 2007.
FACTSHEET reported that the EFCC had arraigned Popular cross-dresser, Bobrisky on the same charges and he was subsequently convicted and sentenced to six months in prison without the option of fine.
While Bobrisky pleaded guilty, Cubana Chief Priest pleaded not guilty.
