Mr. Kanu Agabi, SAN, the Lead counsel to detained leader of the Indigenous Peoples of Biafra (IPOB), Mazi Nnamdi Kanu has withdrawn from the case.
The withdrawal of the senior lawyer follows the decision of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu to represent himself in the suit going forward.
Drama ensued in the open court when Kanu approached Mr. Agabi and after exchanging pleasantries with him retrieved his case file from the former Attorney General of the Federation.

When the matter was called for hearing, Mr. Agabi formerly informed the court that he would no longer be representing Mazi Nnamdi Kanu as the accused had decided to take the case file from him (Agabi.
Also, other Senior lawyers in hitherto defence team announced their withdrawal from the case.
Meanwhile, operatives of the Nigerian Police Force arrested Human Rights activist, Omoyele Sowore on the orders of the FCT Commissioner of Police.
In a viral video shared on the social media handle of Sowore, he can be seen being led away by the police who told him that he was “invited” the commissioner of Police.
Confirming the arrest of Sowore, Mr. Inibihe Effiong in a post shared on X, stated that , “The arrest of Omoyele Sowore at the Federal High Court in Abuja moments ago is preposterous.
“The police and the Tinubu regime are making a mockery of our judicial system. He should be freed immediately. Stop the shenanigans.”
