The Assistant Coach of Shooting Stars Sports Club of Ibadan, Oyo State, Mr. Akin Olowokere has died.
Olowokere was recently appointed alongside other caches of the Ibadan club side died during training at the Lekan Salami Stadium, Dugbe Ibadan according to sources close to the club.
A source who witnessed the unfortunate incident told PUNCH newspaper, that gaffer “slumped on the pitch during the team’s Monday morning training session and was rushed to the hospital
“He was, however, confirmed dead at the hospital where he was rushed to.”
There has not been official statement from the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) or the club management at press time.
