Resulting from the Federal High Court judgement of Friday October 31, 2025 which put the earlier scheduled Elective National Convention of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on hold, the National Working Committee (NWC) has scheduled an emergency meeting today (Saturday) the party’s National Secretariat.
The meeting according to a senior official of the party is scheduled to enable the party take a decision on the way forward.
Justice James Omotosho while ruling on a suit filed by some leaders of the party held that the PDP can only conduct a valid national convention when it fully compliies with its on Constitution and the guidelines of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
ggThe Court also held that it is the National Legal Adviser of the party that has the constitutional mandate to represent or appoint a legal representative for the party in court.
