INEC Throws Out Recall Petition Against Sen. Natasha, Says It Didn’t Meet Constitutional Threshold

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has trashed the petition submitted by some people fromKogi State seeking to recall the lawmaker representing Kogi Central Senatorial District, Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan  from the Senate.

In a statement shared on its X handle on Thursday INEC stated the petition did not meet the constitutional requirement for recalling an elected lawmaker.

The statement reads: “The petition for the recall of the Senator representing the Kogi Central Senatorial District has not met the requirement of Section 69(a) of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria 1999 (as amended).”
