Barely 24 hours after Air India flight 171 crashed and killed 240 people in Ahmedabad. another Air India flight on Friday morning made an emergency landing in Thailand after a bomb-threat on the New Delhi bound flight.
However, Reuters reports that “All 156 passengers on flight AI 379 had been escorted from the plane, in line with emergency plans, an Airports of Thailand.”

Reports indicate that the aircraft took off from Phuket airport enroute Indian capital, New Delhi at 9.30 a.m. (0230 GMT) on Friday, but made a wide loop around the Andaman Sea and landed back on the southern Thai island where all the passengers were evacuated and escorted to a security facility for further processing.
With the perennial border skirmishes between India and its neighbor Pakistan heightened in the last few months, bomb threat on planes have increased in the Indian airspace. In the last one year, India has recorded over 1000 hoax bomb threat calls.
