The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike has rvealed that he has signed over 6000 Certificates of Occupancy (Cof O), arising from “regularisation” of lands allocated by various local government areas of the FCT.
Wike made the disclosure on Tuesday in Abuja during his monthly media chat with journalists.
The minister who reiterated that it is only the FCT administration that is legally empowered to issue Cof O, called on anyone that has any allocation from any of the area councils to “regularise” their documents, pay the statutory fees to secure their property Cof O.
He maintained that no “Area Council allocate land to anyone in the FCT.”
