Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Chieftain and Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Mr. Nyesom Wike, has dismissed claims of an alliance between the PDP and the Allied Peoples Movement, describing the reported alliance as “political 419.”

The FCT minister made the remarks on Thursday while speaking with journalists during an inspection of ongoing road projects in Gomani-Yangoje, Kwali Area Council.
The former Rivers State governor accused Seyi Makinde of misleading Nigerians with claims of a PDP-APM alliance ahead of the 2027 general election.
“When I say people are fraudulent, they thought I was joking. And that’s the 419 we are talking about,” the minister said.

Wike pointed out that neither the PDP nor the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) was aware of any coalition involving the two parties as far as the 2027 general election is concerened.
According to him, “There’s no alliance between PDP and Allied Peoples Movement, APM, or any other political party, as the case may be. INEC also knows that there’s nothing called PDP-APM alliance.”
Wike maintained that the PDP was already busy with electioneering activities, including sale of nomination forms for all categories of elective offices from the state house of assembly, National Assembly, governorship and presidential election
He said that the “PDP has presented a presidential candidate and watch out who will be submitted to INEC and see whether there’s anything called PDP-APM.”
“What you have is Seyi Makinde joining APM to be able to actualize his presidential ambition, which is already dead on arrival,”
“It’s unfortunate. We know that has been his game plan and we would say he cannot fly the flag of PDP.”
