I Joined APC in Appreciation of President Tinubu for Helping Me Retain My Seat-Gov Fubara

Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State has said that he joined the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in appreciation of President Bola Tinubu for saving his seat as governor.

 

Fubara who announced his defection from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the ruling party on Tuesday is a statement said that, “We agreed that we have every reason to identify with Mr. President as I wouldn’t still be here as the Governor without him.”

He said that President Tinubu had been “supportive” of his government and therefore deserves total loyalty as a form of appreciation.

In the statement share on his social media handle stated:

“Following my visit to President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu in which I briefed him on the situation in Rivers State, I had a meaningful discussion with Rivers State stakeholders at the Government House, Port Harcourt.

“We agreed that we have every reason to identify with Mr. President as I wouldn’t still be here as the Governor without him.

“We also decided to leave the PDP, our previous platform, and join the APC as Mr. President has been supportive all through.

“With the people’s trust, the only way to show our gratitude is to support him completely and wholly.

Fubara was locked in  political war with his godfdather and predecessor,

Mr. Nyesom Wike, the minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

The situation escalated to the point that President Tinubu had to “intervene” bu imposing a -six months state of emergency.
