The second edition of Enugu City Marathon is currently underway in the Coal City.
The 42km marathon also has the 10km “Fun Run” which has become the biggest attraction. The Fun Run attracts people from all over Nigeria.
For safety and convenience, the Enugu State Government has restricted vehicular movement on the marathon routes.
In 2025, the marathon attracted participants from several countries including Kenya, Ethiopia among others. Winners went home with cash prizes ranging from $5,000 to $15,000
In the last three years, Enugu is gradually emerging as a destination for fun and rest, last year the capital of the old Eastern Region quickly stepped in to host the 2025 Nigeria Bar Association (NBA) conference which was earlier scheduled to hold in Port Harcourt.
