Music superstar, Davido has alleged that the governor of Imo State, Senator Hope Uzodinmma sent the Ebonyi State Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC), Mrs. Onyeka Pauline Ugochi to Osun State to help rig the August 15, 2026 scheduled givernorship election in the state.
The Afrobeats superstar whose real name is David Adeleke, is a nephew to the Governor Ademola Adeleke, who is seeking re-election on the ticket of Accord Party.

Raising alarm in a social media post shared on his X handle on Thursday, Davido stated that Osun electorate will “resist” any attempt to rig the election.
“She was not deployed by INEC. What is she doing in Osun.
“She was sent here from Governor Hope Uzodimma to rig. We will resist you, madam,” Davido wrote.
Political violence has marred the campaign processes leading to the Saturday election as violence has nearly overtaken the process with over 40 persons already reported to have been killed.
The ruling Accord Party is being challenged by the powerful All Progressives Congress (APC) with the “backing” of “federal might.” A member of the National Assembly was recently seen in a video ordering members of the APC to “kill” political opponent wherever, they are seen. The violent speech of the lawmaker has elicited condemnation from both local and international organisations including the Amnesty International that already threatened to call for sanctions against the senator and other promoters of violence ahead of the 2027 general elections.
