FG Should Invest in Agric, NOT Sharing Food to Nigerians- Shehu Sani

Social activist and former federal lawmaker, Senator Shehu Sani has taken a swipe at the Federal Government of Nigeria over the petrol subsidy removal palliative which has led to various governments going on tour to hand out food packs to some Nigerians.

Speaking on the food sharing spree, Sani who represented Kaduna Central in the 8th Senate in a statement published on his social media platform said that, ” if the Government guys food and share it to the people, it will stop hunger for a day or week, and have to buy again. If the government invest in agriculture and the farmer, it will solve the problem of hunger for years.”

Last week Oyo State governor, Seyi Makinde was seen happily sharing sachets of garri to residents of the state, while several state governors are gearing up to share the now popular “palliatives.”
