Palpable fear is brewing in Imo and parts of Anambra States as Mr. Ifeanyi Eze Okorienta popularly known as “Gentle De Yahoo” a self-confessed IPOB operative and Commander of the Eastern Security Network (ESN) on Thursday surfaced in series of social media videos.
Okorienta was reportedly captured and later killed by Nigerian security forces in October 2025.
According to media reports, the Defence Headquarters was quoted to have confirmed that Okorienta was captured in an operation conducted by the OPERATION UDO KA NMA squad on October 13, 2025 at between Umunnochi , Abia State and Okigwe in Imo State.
Troops were said to have also taken three children and a woman believed to be close relatives of Okorienta into custody.
Several residents of Okigwe had disputed the alleged capture of Okorienta, but some medi oulet insisted that the ESN commander had been neutralised.
