Ex Federal Lawmaker, Linus Okorie Announces Funeral Programmes for Late Father

Former member of the House of Representatives, Rt Hon Linus Abba Okorie has announced buriaL obsequies for his late father, Okaji Simon Okorie Abaa, popularly known as “Patron Eguani” (patron of the children), a fond title Late Okaji Abaa earned due to his care for the younger generation throughout his lifetime.

Late Okaji Simon Okorie Abba was a well known community leader, elder statesman and educationist. He died on November 14, 2025. He was aged 93.

In the burial programme signed by Hon Linus Okorie, the burial obsequies will kick off with a Christian wake at Isiama Primary School, Onicha, Onicha LGA of Ebonyi State, while the funeral mass will take place at the Isiama Primary School, Onicha on Friday July 31, 2026. The remains of the elder statesman will be interred at his country home, Amokwe, Isiama, Onicha, Onicha LGA of Ebonyi State same day Friday 32, 2026.

Late Okaji Abaa sired several children including, Hon Linus Okorie, who was member of the 7TH and 8th National Assembly. Between August 2015 and June 2019 he was the Chairman, House Committee on Agric Institutions. And was the Ebonyi South Senate candidate of Labour Party (LP) in the 2023 general elections and currently the Senate candidate of the Niferian Democratic Congress (NDC) for the 2027 general elections.
