Operatives of the EFCC on Saturday at Njikoka local government area arrested a suspected vote buyer identified as Emeka Iloakasia with bundles of cash running into yet to be disclosed millions of naira.
The EFCC also made similar arrests in Oyi ans Dunukofia LGAs.
According to a statement issued by the anti-graft agency, “Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, have arrested three suspected vote buyers in various parts of Anambra.

“The suspects are Emeka Ilokasia arrested at Ward 2, Njikoka Local government, Anambra; Nwachuwu Loretta, arrested at Ward 2(008), Awkuzu, Oyi local government and Emuka Chuwudi, arrested at Umunachi village, Dukonukofia local government.
The EFCC confirmed that “All the suspects were arrested while participating in the governorship election held on Saturday, November 8, 2025.”
The agency stated that all the suspects “will be charged to court as soon as investigations are concluded.”
Earlier FACTSHEET reported that the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate, Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu after casting his vote in his Nnewi South LGA Osumenyi ward decried the pervasive vote-buying during the election. He however, did not make any direct accusations against any of his Co contestants.
