Governor Ogbonna Nwifuru has proceeded on his annual leave and has handed over executive powers to his deputy, Princess Patricia Onyemaechi Obila.

The governor had earlier transmitted a letter to the Ebonyi State House of Assembly in compliance with section 190 (1) of the 1999 constitution as amended.
The details of the governors leave, including where he would be spending his time off has, however, not been disclosed.
The Ebonyi State House of Assembly has acknowledged the letter.
