Democracy Day: Nigerian Youth Won’t Tolerate Shabby Elections in 2027, NYO Warns INEC

The Nigeria Youth Organisation (NYO) has declared that Nigerian youths are  ready to defend Nigeria’s democracy.

The NYO in a statement signed by its National Executive President, Comrade Okorie C. Okorie on Thursday in Abuja reiterated the resolve of Nigerian youths to protect the electorate and their votes in the forthcoming 2027 general elections.

The NYO while calling on youths across Nigeria to embrace peace and patriotism, however, called on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and other relevant agencies to make “adequate” preparations ahead of the 2027 general elections so that a “a credible and acceptable” elections will be conducted.

According to the statement, the NYO “call[s] on the Independent national Electoral Commission (INEC)  to make adequate preparations  in order to conduct a transparent, credible and acceptable elections come 2027 as  Nigerian youths are readily available to support  INEC to  achieve a hitch-free exercise.”

 

The organisation warned that, “Any attempt by anybody, institution or group of persons to rig the forthcoming 2027 General Election will be grossly resisted by the Nigerian Youths. Enough is Enough.”
