Dele Momodu Resigns from PDP, Joins ADC

Publisher of Ovation International magazine and chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Chief Dele Momodu has tendered his resignation from the party.

Momodu in a letter addressed to the ward Chairman of PDP, Ihievebe, Owan East LGA of Edo State dated Julyn17, 2025 stated that he was resigning from the party due the takeover of the party by “anti-democratic forces” both within and outside the party.

According to the former presidential aspirant, “Our party has undeniably been seized by antidemocratic elements, both from within and without, in broad daylight.

“It is therefore honorable to relinquish the remains of the party to them while the majority of us earnestly align with the new coalition party, the African Democratic Congress (ADC).”

Chief Momodu’s resignation follows the resignation of former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar.

Atiku, the 2023 presidential candidate of the party also cited the current issues in the party as his reason for leaving the party.

 

The former Vice President, a strong member of the opposition coalition movement has, however, not revealed his next political party.
