Chief Ifeanyi Chukwuma Odii, the Ebonyi State Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate in the 2023 general elections has expressed “shock and deep sorrow” over the death of the first lady of Akwa Ibom State, Pastor Patience Umo Eno.
The Akwa Ibom State Government on Friday through a statement issued by the state commissioner for Information, Ini Ememobong announced the passing of the first lady during a brief illness.
Reacting to the unfortunate incident, Chief Odii condoled with Governor Umo Eno and the people of Akwa Ibom State, calling on them to take solace in the “life of service” lived by the departed first lady.
In a statement he personally signed on Friday, Chief Odii who described the death of Mrs. Eno as “traumatic” and “harrowing,” however, called on Governor to stand firm as the leader of the people of Akwa Ibom state while praying for the repose of the soul of the first lady.
The statement reads:
“It is with shock and deep sorrow that I received the unfortunate announcement of the death of your dear wife, the First Lady of Akwa Ibom State, Her Excellency, Pastor Patience Umo Eno, Eka Iberedem Akwa Ibom.
“Words can hardly express the welling of emotions over this irreplaceable loss. Your wife was a pillar of support, a loving mother, not just for her children but for the people of Akwa Ibom State and everyone that ever came across her way in her lifetime.
“Your Excellency, it is indeed a traumatic, harrowing and trying times, but I urge you, the children, and indeed the people of Akwa Ibom State to rather treasure her beautiful, Impactful and success-filled life; take consolation in the fact that she lived her life for the good of others and most importantly in the service of God. From all records, she exuded excellence as “Odozi Aku” and even in death her records stand tall.
“On behalf of my family and the teeming members of the PDP family in Ebonyi State, we sincerely condole with you in this sad time as we pray for the fortitude to stand firm for the family and the people of Akwa Ibom State.
“We are firmly with you in our prayers.
“May her beautiful soul rest in peace. Amen.
