The National Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. Abdulahi Umar Ganduje has resigned his position.
Earlier Daily Nigerian Newspaper in an exclusive report revealed that Dr. Ganduje will be replaced with one of the Zonal Chairmen of the party who will lead the party in acting capacity pending the party’s national convention slated to hold on December 2025.

Ganduje has been under intense pressure from party stakeholders, especially from the North Central and the Northeast over what many say is the undue advantage Ganduje was taking despite not wining Kano State in the last election.
Ganduje emerged the national chairman of the party after former caretaker chairman, Senator Abudulahi Adamu was pressured to resign over his initial non-support for President Bola Tinubu’s emergence as the party’s flag bearer in the 2023 presidential election.
Ganduje, a former Governor of Kano State recently said that he was working towards making Nigeria a one-party state insisting there was “nothing wrong” with the idea.
